A lot of writing is about telling your stories...
I know Bob's
books that were nominated for Gold Medallions were personal story-driven
in the 90's (and they told him that is why they were nominated).
Now we really try to make it 80 percent stories, mostly our own.
Reality TV has proven people want the authors personal stories.
Stories illustrate
Stories show rather than tell
Stories answer the question, so all the readers said "So what?"
The stories can be direct illustrations of your point, tangential stories or analogies...
You don't have to tell the readers what they are. The readers are smart and will figure it out.
Stories also entertain. Some can give some needed white space margin among heavy content.
We want to get to know the author better and then we will believe her content/principles more, too.
Tell us your stories!
